In-House Management Accountant

Job Description

Prism7 Resourcing are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant for a large family run logistics company based in Basildon.

As a In House Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and conducting financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. If you have experience within this sector working in Logistics this would be beneficial.

Duties:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and potential areas of improvement
  • Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring adherence to financial goals
  • Assist in the development of financial forecasts and projections
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
  • Perform cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
  • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation
  • Utilize accounting software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) to maintain accurate financial records
  • Be able to work along a small team of two other people
  • Able to work with all different types of strong personalities

Requirements:

  • Degree / proven qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, CMA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA certification is required
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practice
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and modelling
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working within accounts in a logistics sector or similar is desirable
