Salary Benchmarks
UK Hiring Benchmarks & Salary Data
Online salary aggregators average data across the country and across roles, which makes them blunt. A Class 1 HGV driver in central London is not paid the same as one in rural Essex. A warehouse manager at a small distributor is not paid the same as one at a national 3PL. Generic numbers are a starting point — they are not an answer.
What we offer instead is sector-specific, current, and informed by the placements we make every month. When a client asks what they should be paying to fill a role, or when a candidate asks what they should be earning, we answer based on actual market data — including location, contract type, certifications, and the specific employer.
Reach out for a free benchmark on any role you are hiring for or considering, and we will give you a clear range with the factors that move it.
What A Benchmark Covers
How We Build Salary Advice
Specific to your role, your location, and your contract type.
Location-specific
London weighting, Essex vs Kent vs Greater London differential, commuter-belt premiums — we build the picture for where you actually are.
Contract type
Permanent salary, temp hourly rates, contract day rates, and temp-to-perm conversion — all priced differently in the same role.
Certifications & experience
CSCS-carded vs uncertified, ADR-certified vs standard HGV, forklift-certified vs general warehouse — premiums vary by role and employer.
Market direction
Whether rates are rising, flat, or under pressure — particularly in driver, warehouse, and hospitality where shortage premiums change month to month.
Hours & shift premiums
Night-shift uplift, weekend premiums, on-call expectations — these reshape the headline figure significantly.
Non-pay components
Pension, holiday entitlement, sick pay, training budget, vehicle, fuel card — what to offer beyond the headline rate to make a strong package.
